A, AN, SOME, ANY RULES

Articles = A, AN, THE

AN - use before a vowel or vowel sound 

ex. I want to eat AN apple from the group of apple

A -  use before a consonant 

the use is in general.  (can be anything.)

THE - Specific = you choose. (unique or specific ).

I want to eat THE apple which is at first position of the group of apple

-2nd time you talk about the same noun.

ex. I bought some fruit. The fruit was bad.

- The speaker and listener both know

- 1% of countries = United _______, countries that starts with United

               - more than two words.

-small Islands.
